So for my first Dining with Dan I picked Nick’s. I have written reviews about this restaurant before on Yelp and CoralSpringsTalk.com so feel free to check them out. I rated this place high and my opinion has not changed. Out of all the places I frequent, I go to Nick’s the most. They have a fantastic happy hour, the service is wonderful/friendly, the food is consistently good and I love sitting outside.

The Agenda

When: Monday, December 28, 2015 at 600p.

Where: In the back dining room at Nicks, 2444 North University Drive, Coral Springs, Florida, 33065

Price: $30.00 (includes gratuity and tax)

RSVP: Send me an email at Ustayhungry@gmail.com. You must prepay with me and there will be no refunds. Space is limited to 10 people. All alcohol/drinks are not included and must be paid separately.

Your 30 bucks will include hanging with me and my wonderful personality:) A menu specifically designed for folks who love food. You will meet the manager and we will be given a tour of the kitchen. They are rolling out some new menu items and we may have the chance to sample them.

This will be a very low key and stress free event. Dress casual and I just want us to have fun. So if you are an uptight person or an a$$hole, stay home. I don’t want you at my event.

Here is the menu and it looks very impressive. The appetizers, entrees, pizza, and desserts will be served family style. Which means, they will be shared giving everyone a chance to sample many different items.

UPDATE: SOLD OUT. Crazy response I’ve had for my first dinner. The head count is now at 25. I didn’t want such a large number, but its tough to turn away folks when I have the space. But, now its officially closed. My guest list is a mix of folks. Some are in the business and others are just into food. The list includes, the Brewer from Big Bear Brewery, two sous chefs from The Cook and the Cork who are also graduates from CIA, two of their friends one is a chef and the other is a pastry chef in Naples, two managers from Bonefish Grill, and the rest are people who just love food. I plan on having a VIP there, but we will see how that works out.

Awesome night…if this was the first I look forward to many more to come! With 15 items AND assorted desserts it’s hard to pick a favorite. A few that stood out were the portobello mushroom salad and chicken marsala…loved the crispy polenta….but hands down the best and most unusual for me was the clam pizza…awesome things crust…quality clams…right amount of cheese and garlic. ..can’t wait to attack the leftovers!! Thank you Nick’s AND Dan first and incredible feast…awesome for putting me in a food coma that will likely last until 2016!!

Awesome! It was definitely a food adventure for damn sure. I’m glad you and Shelly came to my first event of many. Y’all are true fans of mine following me from my Coralspringstalk Best Of Series. Which, by the way, I will be resurrecting in the near future. Thanks again:)

As for my favorite, it was the clam pizza too. The first time I had it was maybe right after they first opened. At that time, I thought it was too salty. Not anymore, the garlic cut right thru any salt flavor. It’s very addicting and the crust is so thin. It’s hard to believe it holds up to the clams, cheese, and garlic. There is no way, no matter how skinny you are, or if you are watching your weight, that you could just eat one slice of this pizza. Good stuff.

I didn’t get to try everything, but most of the items I’ve had before. I should have named this Dining With Alli as suggested by Chef Mike. I was truly blessed with the turn out. Thanks again to everyone who came out, Nicks, and all the staff who made my first event a special one.

Thank you Dan and Nick’s staff for a fantastic evening. I really enjoyed all of the food, however….The Pizza, holy shit. No really, holy shit. Hands down my favorite. Honestly, best pizza in South Florida. Thats the closet thing I have had to NY pizza since I left NY (and yes Dan, its all about the water, they are just an exception, or maybe they are borrowing from Brooklyn water bagels). Hands down best dish of the day.

Can’t wait for the next event Dan. Dinning with Alli is a fun time…

Muy Bueno…..what a great night it was!… the whole menu was great, I felt like I had a sampler of the best Nick’s has to offer.
My favorites were the clam pizza, the crispy polenta, the eggplant rollitini and the Portobello mushroom salad, all the pasta dishes were great and the desserts, although I didn’t try any, looked delicious!!
But not only the food was great, the staff treat us like royalty, making sure that we always had a drink next to us and that no dish was missing at our tables!
What a good thing it is to have Nick’s in our neighborhood and Dan I. having this type of events, in this paradise that we call South Florida!
