Who makes the Best Bagels in Coral Springs?

It has been a while since I typed a “Best Of” article. I wanted to do something different with my Bagel gig and, beyond popular belief, setting something up like this is not easy. I tried organizing this with the owner/employees of Darby Dental In Coral Springs, Fl. and at Wings Plus on Sample Road, but it just didn’t work out.

Brian Faer, who is the Captain of the BSO North Lauderdale District and a friend of mine, offered to have his District Employees be judges. This was an awesome idea BUT I wanted folks that work or live in Coral Springs to be my judges. His idea led me to contacting Lynne Marie Martzall who works in the Coral Springs Police Department Community Involvement Unit. I’ve known Lynne and her husband Howard for a while. Lynne is a true professional and has such a great personality. I can’t thank her enough for helping me with organizing this event.

Unlike a lot of New Yorkers I like my bagels toasted.

Best Bagels

If you haven’t figured it out, I’m big a fan of the City of Coral Springs— the Police Department, Fire Department, the Commissioners and all of the city staff. With that said, on Friday, November 11th, 2016 (Veterans Day) at 8:30am some of the City of Coral Springs staff will be my judges for the best bagels in Coral Springs. It will be held in the Community Room at 2801 Coral Springs Drive. This will be a blind tasting, which means the judges will not know who made the bagels. I have picked three Coral Springs bagel joints who I think makes the best bagels. The only person who will know the name of the Bagel joints is me. These bagels will be placed in three Lucky Market Bags (shameless plug for them) and labeled A, B, and C. Each judge will have a half of bagel from each bag and will received a scoring sheet. The favorite bagel will be listed under #1. I will be asking the judges to write why their #1 bagel was better than the other two. I’m not going to give hints on what a good bagel should taste like. Everyone has different palates and you don’t need to be from NYC to know what good food tastes like LOL.

I will also be inviting some special judges who are either in the food industry, from New York, or follow my blog to attend this event.

My photographer for this event will be Nickolette  Motttola. Not only is she beautiful and easy on the eyes, but she can take some mean pictures. I will be providing the bagels, cream cheese, peanut butter etc… I am NOT receiving any free food. Again, this shows my commitment to the community, supporting businesses and their employees in my neighborhood.
