The Winner of The Best Of Prime Rib in Coral Springs as voted by the Dan I Cook Food Agents, The Taste of Coral Springs and Coral Springs Foodie.com is Bonefish Mac’s Sports Grille.

This was an eye opener. I though for sure Runyons would have won hands down but the judging categories made it harder for them to walk away with it. The restaurants were rated as such:

1) Was the price you paid worth what you were served?

2) Did they get the temperature exactly how you ordered it?

3) Overall taste and quality of the meat?

Bang for your buck was deciding factor for many of the Food Agents. All three restaurants had positive qualities and all had some negative ones, too.

Food Agent Laura P. said it the best, ” I gotta say, I was truly surprised by this one. My vote is for Bonefish. All had quality cuts, all cooked to order. However the value and flavor won it for me.”

Food Agent Carolann said, “Bonefish Mac’s $12.95 perfect cook..temp..awesome seasoning and taste!”

Food Agent David Lesser said, ” Bonefish Mac’s was cooked to perfection. Bang for the buck and simply the flavor. The other 2 were good but the deciding factor for me was bang for the buck. I also loved the au-jus!”

Food Agent Joe C. Was pretty clear on why he picked Bonefish Mac’s,

“1) Was the price you paid worth what you were served?
5 rating.

Great value on Mondays $12.99 meat baked potato and a salad you can’t beat it. I had to take some home.

2) Did they get the temperature exactly how you ordered it?
Rating 5.

I ordered the end cut so you can’t be that picky .

3) Overall taste and quality of the meat.
Rating 3.5.

Was it the best I ever ate?  No, however the meat was good not overly seasoned and tender. Had a bit more fat than I care for but overall it was great for what we paid for. Overall, It was pretty damn good. I’d go back and recommend it.”

My Opinion

My bride and I couldn’t vote again because our daughter works at Runyons as a hostess. I’ve had Runyons Prime Rib at least five times and it is a very nice/huge cut. The flavor was spot on and since I eat at many high end restaurants, I though the price was fair for the food served.

As the votes were coming in it was clear that out of the 24 Food Agents that participated Bonefish Mac’s was running away with the contest. I decided to have the Bonefish Mac’s Prime Rib and judge it for myself. I didn’t go when they have the $12.95 Monday special. I went on a Friday and got the 16 ounce Legend Cut for $19.99. When it was served it looked amazing! It was cooked proper medium and seasoned just right. They had to have used like a garlic or onion salt on the outside. I’m used to a salt and pepper rub on my Prime Rib so their seasonings tasted refreshing without being overly salty. I agree with Food Agent David L…the au-jus was damn good. I cut some middle pieces of meat and dipped them in the au-jus. The briny flavor mixed with the meat was outstanding! I also had plenty of meat to take home, too.

The hard question, who would have I voted for? The answer is simple, Runyons. Trust me there is nothing wrong with the Prime Rib at Bonefish Mac’s it’s damn good along with many items on their menu. I just think Runyons puts out a better cut of meat and it’s well worth the money.

Verdict

Congrats again to Bonefish Max’s Sports Grille!!!!!!!

I suggest everyone does their own taste test and see who comes out on top.

I can say this about the way I run my Best Of Series for Coral Springs, this is as fair as it gets. Having paying customers decide who has the best product by actually going to the business and judge is such a beautiful thing. Plus, it’s very dear to my heart. I am probably the only blogger who does this traveling judging in the United States.
