The Talent, THE Original Food Agent!

UPDATE!!!!! ALL SLOTS ARE FULL!  Thank you to my new agents and there will be more information to come!

Do you like great food? Do you like good drinks? Do you like helping businesses out in your area? Do you like bringing awareness to the Children’s Tumor Foundation www.ctf.org ? Lastly, do like doing something positive? If you answered “yes” to all of the above, ‘Coral Springs Foodie’ (aka Jeff Rosen) and I are looking for YOU to be a Dan I. Cook Food Agent.

What is a Dan I Cook Food Agent?
You will determine who has the Best Food and Drinks in Coral Springs Florida. We will give you a mission to dine at a restaurant to score/taste the Best Of Item nominated by your peers. You will be responsible for paying for your own food, but your input will determine who wins the Dan I. Cook “Best of” Coral Springs, Fl. Plaque. Unlike a food poll, each food agent will hit the top three places recommended by the readers. The Food Agents will determine “in person” who has the best. Even though there will be one winner, the top three businesses will all win because the Food Agents will spend money in each location. I will consult with ‘Coral Springs Foodie’, but I will make the final decision on who makes the cut for three joints the food agents will hit.

As a Dan I. Cook Agent will I dine anonymously?
No. This isn’t a “got you” game for the businesses. You will be required to provide your first name, last initial, what you do for a living and explain why you are qualified to be an agent. My Best Of series has clout and respect from the area businesses. If the businesses don’t respect who is judging them than this whole thing is a waste of time and money. None of the food agents will be providing negative feedback publicly. This is a positive gig…there is enough negativity in the world and we are not going to contribute to it.

Do I have to be a resident of Coral Springs to be a Dan I. Cook Food Agent?
No. Many folks from all different cities come to Coral Springs to drink and dine. All are welcome, BUT as of now all businesses we judge will only be in the City of Coral Springs Fl. In the future we may have “special missions” that will take us into Broward County.

How do I join?
Send me an email/message or post your name, last initial, what you do for a living and explain why you are qualified to be an agent. You can also post on Coral Springs Foodie’s Facebook page too. The recruiting period will run from December 8th until December 31th, 2016. On January 1st, 2017 you will be given your first mission which will be posted on my website and Coral Springs Foodie’s Facebook Page. You will be given a scoring sheet, directions, and a deadline when your mission ends. For example, if we have a Best of Wings contest I will give you two weeks to visit the three establishments and complete the mission. If all agents report in before the two week deadline we will close the mission and announce the winner. You will not know your mission until we post it. Anyone who fails to follow the rules will be released and we will find someone to take your slot. We will open this up to 30 qualified agents. Once we have 30 we will close the application process.

Partnership with Future Food Blog and News Writers
I will be partnering up with Coral Glades High School in Coral Springs Florida to coach/mentor two senior high school students on the world of food blogs. These two students will be Dan I. Cook Food Agents and will participate with judging. Let’s face it the young women and men in our community are our future. On top of that, they spend money too…LOL. With the help of Kristen Edwards, Journalism Teacher and Coral Glades High Newspaper “The Prowl” Advisor, we will work together to make this an educating and rewarding experience for the students.

The Children’s Tumor Foundation www.ctf.org
Why am I promoting this foundation? I never heard of Neurofibromatosis until I met Coral Springs Foodie, Jeff Rosen. His son is afflicted with this disease and after listening to Jeff, I wanted to do something for this foundation…even if it’s small. What I would like to see is EVERY business that gets nominated to please share the website www.CTF.org with your employees. If they can make a donation great! If they can’t, that’s fine too. As long as the website and their mission is being shared it’s all good!
