Cajun food I just love it! Since Shuck and Dive is the only place in Broward that serves it I don’t eat it. I hate their stupid no cell phone policy. After I was rudely spoken too by a server while I was on a business call, to get off my phone, I’ve never been back. That was a decade ago and yes I don’t forget👎🏽 What sucks it had nothing to do with the chow because it is good. Used to go there when they were on A1A and Oakland Park Blvd. now screw them. 👍🏽
When I need my Cajun fix I just travel a hour and half north to Jensen Beach to Crawdaddy’s Kitchen. The food and the ambiance blows Shuck and Dive away. From the happy hours specials, free boiled Cajun peanuts at the bar, drinks, cold beer, food and live music you can’t beat it. Staff is very friendly but so is everyone in this area. It reminds how Broward used to be when I was growing up.
I ordered crawfish which was a huge portion and outstanding. I then got the blacken dolphin with red beans and rice. If you cook this wrong the fish comes out dry. It’s easy to mess up but not here. The fish was here is that word everyone loves “moist” 😂 and very flavorful. My son got a cup of lobster bisque which he said was just as good as the one at the Mai Kai. I then topped everything off with a nice Hurricane😎 Sweet, delicious and powerful👍🏽
Verdict
If you ever come in this area you MUST come here if you love Cajun food and vibe. It’s worth the drive. I was there last night and when I finish typing this review I’m walking over from my hotel to enjoy happy hour there and another round of chow💪🏽 Stay hungry!
