Best Frozen Pizza, Screamin’ Sicilian Pizza Co.

Frozen Pizza Lovers please raise your hand! Now, how many of you in an open forum admit that you love/like frozen pizzas. Not many. Why would you when you can get a 5 buck fresh pizza from a local chain. I admit to the world, that I love frozen pizza. I’ve gone thru all the phases of frozen pizza, too.

As a kid, I just adored Stouffers Frozen French Bread pepperoni pizza. Besides enjoying the taste, I love the fact that you got two of those suckers in one box. I always liked that.

Next up was Totinos Frozen Pepperoni Pizzas. These pizzas suck but the fact that you could buy 10 of them and still have money to buy beer made me a convert.

As my salary increased, I then hit Tombstone Frozen pizza. I started to branch off in the supreme toppings instead of just pepperoni. Even though they seem to be on sale all the time, they are pretty solid. I like the crust, the toppings, and it cooks up real nice.

Then I started to experiment with DiGiorno’s Pizza and this new thing called the “rising crust”. I give this company credit…this was as close to fresh pizza as I’ve ever seen. I did think the crust could be too doughy so I’d switch to the thin crust every now and then. The toppings are always plentiful and well distributed.

Then I graduated folks, to California Pizza Kitchen frozen Margherita pizza. I would add my own toppings and cook this bad boy up. Just delicious and when cooked up it tasted like it was made in a restaurant.

The Real Deal

This Box Says EAT ME All Over It!

So I’m strolling down the aisles in my favorite Publix, 2201 North University, minding my own business and then POW! I look in the frozen pizza cooler and see a cool looking brown pizza box that looks like a carnival character with its mouth open on the front. Guys and kids love packaging like this! We get wowed easily with pictures…see it don’t take much to make us happy. Screamin’ Sicilian Pizza Co. is the name of this gift from the gods. The crust, toppings and cheese are plentiful and look fresh as hell. My favorite is the Supremus Maximus…Pepperoni, sausage, green peppers, onions, and black olives. Besides the amount of toppings it’s the quality of them too. You can taste the difference and you don’t have to be a food connoisseur.

Still Frozen. I removed the black olives because I don't like them.

Screamin’ Sicilian offers six varieties: Bessie’s Revenge (cheese), Boss Hog (Italian Sausage), Holy Pepperoni!, Mambo Italiano! (Italian Combination) Spicy Clucker (chicken) and Supremus Maximum (Supreme). The pizzas retail for $8.99, and are BOGO at Publix until Wednesday February 17, 2016.

Verdict

Fresh out of the oven baby!

My rating…….4 Tall Boy Beers for this pizza. BTW…you should already be in your car on the way to Publix to buy someone these puppies! Again, I would be curious to see what other folks think about this frozen pizza gem. Stay Hungry!

Four beers = Outstanding
Three beers = Good
Two beers = OK
One beer = Needs work
Zero beers= Sucks (No beer is never a good thing.)
